This is a genuine historic Sydney railway carriage, built in the 1920s, retired from service, and given a second life on a working farm in the Southern Highlands. It sits close to the farmhouse, right beside the chickens, goats and geese. If you’re travelling with children, this is where the magic happens.

Welcome to Redleaf

Nestled beside the ancient Fitzroy Falls escarpment in the NSW Southern Highlands, Redleaf Farm has been home to the Sparke family for 18 years. Sam, Katrina, and their four children share this land with heritage Saddleback pigs, magnificent Scottish Highland cows, sheep, horses, ducks, geese, peacocks, goats, enormous Irish Wolfhounds, and a very loved miniature donkey.

They didn’t come here to run a business. They came here to build something real – a working family farm rooted in honest food, open land and a deep sense of custodianship for the country they call home.

Here, the seasons mean something. The animals have names. The food is extraordinary. And the people who come here leave changed, even if just a little.

Whether you’re here to stay, explore, eat, celebrate, or simply breathe, you are very welcome at Redleaf.

What Makes Redleaf Different?

  • A Real, Working Family Farm

This isn’t a weekend retreat dressed up to look like a farm. Everything here is genuine – the animals, the produce, the people, and the land. We’re a family farm that happens to welcome guests, not the other way around.

  • Award-Winning Produce

Our pork, lamb and beef have won at state and national level at the Produce Awards. That recognition matters, but what matters more is the philosophy behind it. Low stock numbers. Heritage breeds. Organic pastures. Animals raised with genuine care.

  • Accommodation Unlike Anywhere Else

An 1890s guard’s carriage still on its original wheels. A 1920s Sydney railway carriage turned family haven. A stone bath retreat built for people who want to disappear from the world for a night. There is nothing ordinary about staying at Redleaf.

  • Scottish Highland Cattle

Our registered Scottish Highland fold is home to some of the most magnificent animals in the Southern Highlands. Iconic, gentle and utterly captivating – meeting them is one of those moments guests talk about long after they’ve left.

  • Experiences That Connect

Farm tours, cooking over fire, field-to-fork demonstrations, intimate weddings, and community events that have become part of the fabric of the Southern Highlands. Time at Redleaf isn’t spent, it’s felt.

Voice From Our Guests

The tent was so good! Bedouin style inside, set in idillic surroundings, you’ve got plenty of privacy, right by a river, hot outdoor shower, campfire for cooking and and enough fire wood to chop so you feel all manly

Katrina and Sam are the perfect hosts, attentive without being intrusive. Just enough to make sure you’re ok with the campfire and workings of the place.

The farm tour by Sam was great fun, I thought it would be just for entertaining our 5 year old Daughter, but my partner and I found ourselves totally engrossed.

Quite honestly sad to leave the place after a few nights there, but I’m certain we’ll be back soon

Rick

Our second time staying in Katrina’s glamping tents, wonderful in both winter and summer! Great private setup on a beautiful working farm, ample wildlife and activities on the property and easy access to the national park. Will be back we hope!

Michael

Our glamping trip was a blast: the camp is at the back of a farm, so we got to see and pet lots of farm animals which was perfect for kids. There was a ton of other fun activities for the kids within an arm's reach from the camp. The tent was secure, warm, and cosy, and all mattresses were advanced and comfortable (not inflatables!)

You'll probably be better off with your own bbq utensils, but the base cast iron plate over the firepit has quite ample surface area. We enjoyed a few meals cooked over the fire.

This camp is a great way to introduce oneself to camping with little to none hassle and lots of extra bonuses. Thank you very much Katrina and team!
